Cuomo released the 2011-2012 Executive Budget which proposes cuts and gap-closing actions worth $185.5 million for higher education &#8211; $115.4 million for SUNY and $70.1 million for CUNY.<\/p>\n<p>The budget proposes to reduce community college base per-student operating aid by $226, or 10 percent, from $2,260 to $2,034. For Hudson Valley Community College, this would add up to the loss of $2,322,828 for SFY 2011-12, compounding the approximate $2.9 million cut the college sustained in the 2010-11 Budget.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding state financial aid, the Executive Budget extends the one-year reductions to the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) enacted in 2010-11.<\/p>\n<p>Under Governor Cuomo&#8217;s plan, the Budget is projected to reduce budget gaps to $2.3 billion for 2012-13, $2.5 billion for 2013-14, and $4.4 billion for 2014-15.
