Here is an opportunity to nominate that individual for the distinguished honor of the\u00a0SUNY\u00a0Chancellor\u2019s Award for Excellence in Classified\u00a0Service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The deadline for submitting the nominee\u2019s portfolio to the committee is Monday, Jan. 8<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Chancellor\u2019s Awards for Excellence in the\u00a0Classified\u00a0Service are System-level awards established by the University to give System-wide recognition for superior performance and extraordinary achievement by employees in the\u00a0Classified\u00a0Service. These awards demonstrate the University\u2019s commitment to individuals who provide superior service to its students and the community at large. Employees selected for the awards receive a personal certificate of recognition and a\u00a0Chancellor\u2019s Excellence Medallion. In addition, campuses are encouraged to announce and publish the awards as is customary with other awards programs.<\/p>\n<p>SUNY\u00a0allots awards to each campus based on enrollment. For the Excellence in Classified\u00a0Service, just one award is offered to Hudson Valley Community College.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ELIGIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All nominees must have completed at least three (3) years of continuous, full time permanent service in the\u00a0Classified\u00a0Service position for which they are nominated. Prior recipients of a\u00a0Chancellor\u2019s Award for Excellence in the\u00a0Classified\u00a0Service are ineligible for consideration. Posthumous nominations are also ineligible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CRITERIA FOR SELECTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The nominee must be an individual who has continuously demonstrated outstanding achievement, skill and commitment to excellence in fulfilling the job description for the position held.<\/p>\n<p>The nominee must also demonstrate excellence in activities beyond the scope of the job description. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity and flexibility in performing his or her position to meet campus needs. Special consideration will be given to employees who consistently provide exemplary customer service to students, staff, patients, and other members of the campus community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPCOMING STEPS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of submitting a portfolio, the nominee will be required to provide the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nomination form (Please email committee chair Tony Podlaski at <a href=\"mailto:a.podlaski@hvcc.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a.podlaski@hvcc.edu<\/a> for a copy of the form.)<\/li>\n<li>Supervisor\u2019s letter<\/li>\n<li>The nominee\u2019s resume<\/li>\n<li>Letters of support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT NOTE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sensitivities inherent in such recognition programs and the nature of the supporting documentation involved make it imperative that all deliberations of the campus committee remain strictly confidential.
