The VITA program is a national IRS volunteer program where IRS-certified volunteers prepare federal and state tax returns for free for eligible filers!<\/p>\n<p>Some of the volunteers will be Hudson Valley Community College students studying in the Accounting or Business Administration programs, who will gain valuable experience.<\/p>\n<p>The VITA Tax service will be in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center, Room 216, from 1 \u2013 3:30 p.m. on the following dates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>February 9, 16, 23<\/li>\n<li>March 1, 8, 22<\/li>\n<li>April 5, 12<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>VITA is open to all students, staff and surrounding community members who qualify:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Annual income should be $60k or less<\/li>\n<li>Must not have rental income<\/li>\n<li>Must not have completed bankruptcy during the year being prepared<\/li>\n<li>Must not have self-employment income involving deductions for employees, a home office, or depreciation. Ride sharing employees generally qualify.<\/li>\n<li>Other qualifications may apply depending on individual circumstances<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Interested?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You must make an appointment.
