{"id":22166,"date":"2024-05-06T12:15:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-06T16:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/center-for-distance-and-online-learning-online-instructor-training-end-semester-gradebook-assistance-and-qwickly-course-tools\/"},"modified":"2024-05-06T12:15:00","modified_gmt":"2024-05-06T16:15:00","slug":"center-for-distance-and-online-learning-online-instructor-training-end-semester-gradebook-assistance-and-qwickly-course-tools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/center-for-distance-and-online-learning-online-instructor-training-end-semester-gradebook-assistance-and-qwickly-course-tools\/","title":{"rendered":"Center for Distance and Online Learning:  Online Instructor Training, End Semester Gradebook Assistance, and Qwickly Course Tools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Summer Cohort for Online Instructor Training Begins May 22<\/h2>\n<p>The Center for Distance and\u00a0Online\u00a0Learning is excited to announce that our summer\u00a0training\u00a0schedule and registration form is available for Online Instructor Training.\u00a0This\u00a0training\u00a0will prepare you for teaching either fully\u00a0online\u00a0asynchronous or hybrid courses during the Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 semesters.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Online\u00a0Instructor\u00a0Training\u00a01<\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0online\u00a0instructor\u00a0training\u00a0workshop series is for faculty who will teach either fully\u00a0online\u00a0asynchronous (no set meeting time) or hybrid classes (limited real-time meetings\u00a0online\u00a0or in-person). During\u00a0training, faculty meet with Instructional Designers either\u00a0remotely or in-person\u00a0for two hours each week for 7-weeks to learn the HVCC\u00a0online\u00a0toolkit,\u00a0online\u00a0learning strategies, and best practices for quality assurance. In between class sessions, faculty work on their own or with support to build the course they will be teaching. At the end of the workshop, the completed course build will run through an OSCQR rubric to ensure best practices in quality assurance are present.
