The Vegetable Project is a collaborative effort of parents, faculty, staff and community partners that supports after-school and summertime Garden Clubs, mentoring, and summer jobs for teens. It creates hands-on learning opportunities that involve science, the environment, entrepreneurship, and responsibility for care of living things by growing vegetables and other plants.\u00a0 The annual Evening in the Garden event brings the community together to showcase the fruits and vegetables that have been growing, share hands-on learning activities, and introduce knowledgeable growers eager to share their expertise. The evening ambience was made more spectacular with the sounds of the Albany High School Jazz Ensemble and sample tastes from Albany High School\u2019s Career and Technical Education culinary program and local venues.<\/p>\n<p>Students from the HVCC Honors College had a unique experience participating in this year&#8217;s event.\u00a0 For the first time, select community partners and organizations were invited to offer information about opportunities and resources available throughout the Capital Region.
