Breakfast and lunch are included.<\/p>\n<p>You are more likely to encounter someone \u2014 friend, family member, coworker, neighbor or member of the community \u2014 in an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Mental Health First Aid teaches a five-step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or in a crisis, and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social or self-help care.<\/p>\n<p>The course is geared toward veterans and first responders, but is appropriate for anyone who wants to learn how to help an individual who may be experiencing a mental health crisis or concern. Anyone can take the Mental Health First Aid course \u2014 first responders, students, teachers, leaders of faith communities, human resources professionals and caring citizens. You you do not need to be a veteran or a first responder to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Someone you know could experience a mental illness or crisis.
