{"id":22416,"date":"2024-08-14T11:55:19","date_gmt":"2024-08-14T15:55:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/viking-cupboard-annual-food-pantry-competition-9\/"},"modified":"2024-08-14T11:55:19","modified_gmt":"2024-08-14T15:55:19","slug":"viking-cupboard-annual-food-pantry-competition-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/viking-cupboard-annual-food-pantry-competition-9\/","title":{"rendered":"Viking Cupboard annual food pantry competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>As a community, let\u2019s keep the Viking Cupboard, the campus food pantry, well-stocked for our students!<\/h4>\n<p>Plan now to join the annual competition among academic departments, student services departments, the Student Senate and student organizations to raise donations and awareness of the college\u2019s food pantry.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the details:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The challenge begins on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024 and ends on Monday, May 5, 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Start a team within your department and collect non-perishable food items.<\/li>\n<li>Keep track of the number of items collected and bring them to the HVCC Cupboard weekly, or as often as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Student Activities will also keep track of the total number of items collected, and the team that collects and donates the most items will be crowned the winner.<\/li>\n<li>The winning team will be awarded the Giving Cup Trophy to proudly display in their office throughout the next year\u2019s challenge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Department of Computer Science and Math contributed 9,099 items to take first place in the 2023-2024 Viking Cupboard competition.
