As part of this commitment, this past spring, 10 faculty and staff from SUNY campuses were selected as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suny.edu\/suny-news\/press-releases\/3-24\/3-5-24\/civic.html\">Civic Education and Engagement and Civil Discourse Fellows<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To support campuses, the Fellows invite all members of the SUNY community to join them in system-wide conversations about the meaning and importance of civic education and engagement. Starting in September, there will be six online events as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sunycpd.eventsair.com\/cewfa24\">Fall 2024 Civic Learning and Civic Engagement Online Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cHot Moments in the Classroom: Keeping the Temperature Comfortable\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cVirtual Dialogue: Our Freedom of Speech + the Perils of Misinformation\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cCase Study: Course Development using AI and Civic Discourse\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSTEM Education IS Civic Education\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cArtificial Intelligence and Technology Effects on Politics and Civic Engagement\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe Highway that Racism Built\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These events cross disciplinary boundaries and are offered by Fellows from a range of SUNY institutions. All members of the SUNY community are encouraged to join one or more of these events to exchange ideas and learn from each other. <a href=\"https:\/\/sunycpd.eventsair.com\/cewfa24\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More information and the registration link are available here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, to offer support to those interested in learning more about civic education and engagement, the Fellows have developed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suny.edu\/civicfellows\">SUNY Civic Fellows webpage<\/a>.
