Here is an opportunity to nominate that individual for the distinguished honor of the\u00a0SUNY\u00a0Chancellor&#8217;s\u00a0Award\u00a0for Excellence in\u00a0Classified\u00a0Service.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Chancellor\u2019s\u00a0Awards for Excellence in the\u00a0Classified\u00a0Service\u00a0are System-level\u00a0awards established by the University to give System-wide recognition for superior performance and extraordinary achievement by employees in the\u00a0Classified\u00a0Service. These\u00a0awards demonstrate the University\u2019s commitment to individuals who provide superior\u00a0service\u00a0to its students and the community at large. Employees selected for the\u00a0awards receive a personal certificate of recognition and a\u00a0Chancellor\u2019s Excellence Medallion. In addition, campuses are encouraged to announce and publish the\u00a0awards as is customary with other\u00a0awards programs.<\/p>\n<p>SUNY\u00a0allots\u00a0awards to each campus based on enrollment. For the Excellence in\u00a0Classified\u00a0Service, just one\u00a0award\u00a0is offered to Hudson Valley Community College.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ELIGIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All nominees must have completed at least three (3) years of continuous, full time permanent\u00a0service\u00a0in the\u00a0Classified\u00a0Service\u00a0position for which they are nominated. Prior recipients of a\u00a0Chancellor\u2019s\u00a0Award\u00a0for Excellence in the\u00a0Classified\u00a0Service\u00a0are ineligible for consideration. Posthumous nominations are also ineligible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CRITERIA FOR SELECTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The nominee must be an individual who has continuously demonstrated outstanding achievement, skill and commitment to excellence in fulfilling the job description for the position held.<\/li>\n<li>The nominee must also demonstrate excellence in activities beyond the scope of the job description. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity and flexibility in performing his or her position to meet campus needs. Special consideration will be given to employees who consistently provide exemplary customer service to students, staff, patients, and other members of the campus community.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>UPCOMING STEPS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of submitting a portfolio, the nominee will be required to provide the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nomination form (Please email committee chair Tony Podlaski at a.podlaski@hvcc.edu for a copy of the form.)<\/li>\n<li>Supervisor\u2019s letter<\/li>\n<li>The nominee\u2019s resume<\/li>\n<li>Letters of support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT NOTE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sensitivities inherent in such recognition programs and the nature of the supporting documentation involved make it imperative that all deliberations of the campus committee remain strictly confidential. Committee members are prohibited by the President\u2019s Office to discuss the process or answer questions, such as who is nominated, names forwarded to SUNY, etc.<\/p>\n<p>More information on the Excellence in Classified Service award is <a href=\"http:\/\/system.suny.edu\/communitycolleges\/classified-service-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">available here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submitting the nominee\u2019s portfolio to the committee is Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.
