{"id":23111,"date":"2024-11-20T13:23:39","date_gmt":"2024-11-20T18:23:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/counseling-services-wellness-wednesday-massage-chair-changes\/"},"modified":"2024-11-20T13:23:39","modified_gmt":"2024-11-20T18:23:39","slug":"counseling-services-wellness-wednesday-massage-chair-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/counseling-services-wellness-wednesday-massage-chair-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Counseling Services: Wellness Wednesday &#8211; Massage Chair Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">Wellness Wednesdays<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Throughout the semester, Counseling Services will be posting tips and videos to boost your mental and physical health!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-154024 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Wellness-Header-4-450x179.jpg\" alt=\"Text spelling out the word WELLNESS with images of figures doing yoga, sleeping and stretching, and of an apple and a heart\" width=\"450\" height=\"179\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This week, Counseling Services wanted to announce some changes made regarding the massage chairs in the Wellness Center.<\/p>\n<p>While we are pleased how much the campus community were utilizing these massage chairs in our office, the presence of these chairs and their high usage raised some concerns around the confidentiality of our students that are using our individual counseling services and needing to pass by these students and staff members on the way in and out of sessions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-171004 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/massage-chairs-heated-450x299.webp\" alt=\"person in massage chair on a deck overlooking a lake\" width=\"450\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ultimately, we moved the massage chairs out of our flex space where there won\u2019t be these same concerns.<\/strong> Students are still free to use our flex space for all of the other ways you typically utilize this space, like adult coloring, puzzles, weekly yoga, etc. You will now find one of our massage chairs downstairs on the first floor of the Siek Campus Center, between the two main center stairwells. Additionally, Jordan Road now has a much-deserved massage chair in their building as well! We are happy to provide what support we can to the hard-working students down there! All of the other massage chair locations remain unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>For additional support, contact Counseling Services to schedule an appointment with a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
