Mr. Hajidin, an alumnus of SUNY Potsdam, started his presentation highlighting the value of a SUNY education. His experience at SUNY Potsdam provided an opportunity to learn about the fashion industry through an internship which ultimately led him to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Mr. Hajidin encouraged the students to build networks and explore new opportunities as undergraduates to help set the path for success. After graduating from FIT, he worked for acclaimed designers, including Donna Karen, Liz Claiborne and Ralph Lauren. His passion for fashion and emerging technologies in textiles led him to start his own company, inPhorm, with the mission of creating eco-forward fashion.<\/p>\n<p>During the presentation, students were encouraged to share their thoughts on what fashion meant to them and the influence it may have on their different career paths. The impact of a \u201cfirst-impression\u201d was a common issue they believed highly influenced their prospect of doing well in an interview but could carry through in their daily work experience. The way a person presents themselves is an important factor in how they want others to perceive them. An important point that Mr. Hajidin emphasized was that fashion is not about conforming, but more about being true to oneself.
