{"id":23322,"date":"2024-12-18T13:30:45","date_gmt":"2024-12-18T18:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/reminder-dental-vision-and-health-insurance-changes-and-open-enrollment\/"},"modified":"2024-12-18T13:30:45","modified_gmt":"2024-12-18T18:30:45","slug":"reminder-dental-vision-and-health-insurance-changes-and-open-enrollment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/reminder-dental-vision-and-health-insurance-changes-and-open-enrollment\/","title":{"rendered":"Reminder: Dental, Vision and Health Insurance Changes and Open Enrollment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>December 1 \u2013 December 31 is open enrollment for Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance and the Medical Expense and Dependent Care Reimbursement Plan (Flex 125).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Health Insurance<\/strong><br \/>\nDuring the past few months, the Office of Human Resources has conducted a thorough review of the costs and benefits of all major insurance providers, and Highmark Blue Shield was selected as the college\u2019s new partner as of January 1, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>CDPHP, MVP, NYSHIP, Delta Dental and the Davis Vision plan will no longer be offered to employees or retirees of the college as of January 1, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The college is offering the Highmark 5000 EPO plan as well as a high deductible EPO [HDHP) plan (also with Highmark). Please note that the HDHP plan is not considered Part D creditable coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Rates and plan descriptions are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hvcc.edu\/hr\/employee-handbook\/health-insurance.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Employees Health Insurance webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>What do I need to do to continue, change or cancel my health insurance coverage?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">If you are currently enrolled in a college sponsored health plan (CDPHP, MVP, NYSHIP) you will automatically be enrolled in the Highmark Blue Shield EPO plan for January 1, 2025.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">If you wish to cancel your enrollment in college health insurance, or you are interested in going to the Alternative HDHP plan, please contact Human Resources at <a href=\"mailto:HR@hvcc.edu\">HR@hvcc.edu<\/a> for an enrollment form. You may also update your coverage selections for the Open Enrollment period in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hvcc.edu\/hr\/internal\/forms\/employee-navigator-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Employee Navigator System<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dental Coverage<br \/>\n<\/strong>In addition to an individual dental plan, we now offer a family and two-person option through a new carrier with expanded benefits.
