Hudson Valley Community College is working with the United Way of the Greater Capital Region for the fourth straight year to host\u00a0Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), a national program where community members can get free assistance from IRS-certified volunteers to prepare their federal and state tax returns.<\/p>\n
Again this year, some of the IRS trained and certified volunteers will be Hudson Valley students studying in the\u00a0Accounting\u00a0or\u00a0Business Administration\u00a0programs.<\/p>\n
VITA assistance will be held in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center, room 216, from 1 \u2013 4 p.m. on the following dates:<\/p>\n
February 7, 14, 21, 28
\nMarch 7, 14, 28
\nApril 4, 11
\nRegistrants should sign in at the lobby on the first floor of the Bulmer Center.<\/p>\n
VITA is open to all students, staff and community members who qualify. Eligibility requirements include:<\/p>\n
Annual income should be $67k or less
\nMust not have rental income
\nMust not have completed bankruptcy during the year
\nMust not have self-employment income from selling inventory
\nOther qualifications may apply depending on rare circumstances
