Three, varied musical genres will be showcased in the Spring 2025 Cultural Affairs Program’s concert series that resumes on Feb. 6. The one-hour performances in the BTC Auditorium are open free to the public. No tickets or reservations are required to attend.<\/p>\n

Flamenco Guitarist Juanito Pascual<\/strong>
\nNoon \u2013 Thursday, Feb. 6
\nBTC Auditorium<\/strong>
\nJuanito Pascual is recognized in the U.S. and Spain as a unique flamenco and jazz performer. His influences range from Jimi Hendrix and the Grateful Dead to Miles Davis and J.S. Bach. A Minneapolis native, Pascual has released three, acclaimed albums, including \u201cCosas en Com\u00fan\u201d that is all-original compositions. As he has for past HVCC performances, Pascual has invited Jos\u00e9 Moreno, percussionist and vocalist, to join him.<\/p>\n

Scott Hopkins Trio<\/strong>
\nNoon \u2013 Thursday, March 6
\nBTC Auditorium
\n<\/strong>The Scott Hopkins Trio features masterful musicians Scott Hopkins on acoustic and electric banjo, Lou Smaldone on upright bass and Brian Melick on drums. The group\u2019s repertoire encompasses originals, jazz standards, roots music, Americana and contemporary tunes that are richly imbued with Hopkins\u2019 strong bluegrass and folk influences. Melick supplies Latin grooves that combine with Smaldone\u2019s rock-solid bass playing to create a distinctive ensemble sound. Guest saxophonist Kristina Johnson also will perform.<\/p>\n

Musicians of Ma\u2019alwyck<\/strong>
\nNoon \u2013 Thursday, April 10
\nBTC Auditorium<\/strong>
\nCelebrating its 25th anniversary, Musicians of Ma\u2019alwyck return to HVCC with a lively program of works for flute, guitar and violin by Beethoven, Ibert, Bartok and more. The musicians are Ann-Marie Barker Schwartz, founding director on violin; Norman Thibodeau on flute and Sten Isachsen on guitar. The group is the chamber ensemble in-residence at Schuyler Mansion, a NYS Historic Site in Albany, and SUNY Schenectady. It specializes in music performed in America during the 18th and 19th centuries, much of it sourced from the NYS Library\u2019s Special Collections or by special commission.<\/p>\n
