Instead, we will talk about pie charts.<\/p>\n<p>A pie chart is used to visually represent data. And if we are not careful, we can easily create an inaccessible pie chart. The image below represents a pie chart about Reasons for Inaccessibility. What do you notice? Well, each slice of the pie is represented with a different shade of gray. Anyone who is color blind will have difficulty reading this chart because to them it will look like one gray circle.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-175033\" src=\"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/gray-circle-300x208.png\" alt=\"Inaccessible pie chart representing reasons for inaccessbility\" width=\"300\" height=\"208\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Color should not be the only way to indicate information. To help make pie charts more accessible, put labels directly on each of the slices as a secondary key.
