Prayer<\/strong><\/p>\n Every day I want to speak with you. \u00a0And every day something more important I need to buy for the trip. among the falling piles of paper and clothing, the garbage trucks outside The mystics say you are as close as my own breath. My days and nights pour through me like complaints Help me. \u00a0Even as I write these words I am planning Marie Howe<\/strong> I came across this beautiful, thought provoking poem on my car radio while driving home one day last week. It reminded and challenged me to take some time out of my busy days to do things that put me in touch with the sacred residing in us all. Whether we do this by praying in our religious traditions, meditating, listening to music, exercising or spending time with family and friends, I hope this poem will give you (and me) some permission to indulge in these life-giving activities.<\/p>\n
\ncalls for my attention \u2013 the drugstore, the beauty products, the luggage<\/p>\n
\nEven now I can hardly sit here<\/p>\n
\nalready screeching and banging.<\/p>\n
\nWhy do I flee from you?<\/p>\n
\nand become a story I forgot to tell.<\/p>\n
\nto rise from the chair as soon as I finish this sentence.<\/p>\n
