{"id":2855,"date":"2012-01-23T12:15:48","date_gmt":"2012-01-23T17:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/canadian-tar-sands-action\/"},"modified":"2012-01-23T12:15:48","modified_gmt":"2012-01-23T17:15:48","slug":"canadian-tar-sands-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/canadian-tar-sands-action\/","title":{"rendered":"Canadian Tar Sands Action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A message from the National Wildlife Federation Campus Ecology and the HVCC Sustainability Committee:<\/p>\n<p>Deny the permit needed to build the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>Building the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline would increase our global warming pollution, threaten America\u2019s clean water supplies, deepen our dependence on dirty energy and result in a net loss to American jobs.<\/p>\n<p>We want to thank President Obama for making the right decision. However, our fight is not over.<\/p>\n<p>The Obama Administration will allow TransCanada to reapply for a permit after it develops an alternate route around the sensitive habitat of Nebraska\u2019s Sandhills.
