If you’re a reader and have been looking for a book club to join, please consider the HVCC Book Club. We’re an informal group of students, teachers, staff and community members that love to discuss books. Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 28 at noon in the Marvin Library Multi-Purpose Room.<\/p>\n
For March’s meeting, we plan to discuss Those Who Save Us<\/em><\/strong> by Jenna Blum. For 50 years, Anna Schlemmer has refused to talk about her life in Germany during World War II. Her daughter, Trudy, has only an old photograph: a family portrait showing Anna, Trudy and a Nazi officer. Trudy, now a professor of German history, begins investigating the past. Combining a passionate, doomed love story, a vivid evocation of life during the war and a poignant mother\/daughter drama, Those Who Save Us<\/strong><\/em> is a profound exploration of survival and shame.<\/p>\n So pick up the book before break, settle in for a thought provoking read and then join us on March 28 to discuss it.
