<\/a><\/p>\nThe CET is proud to announce that Nancy Cupolo<\/strong>, department dhairperson in Teacher Preparation<\/em>, and Tony Podlaski<\/strong>, instructor in English, Modern Languages and English as a Second Language<\/em>, have successfully completed the requirements for the certificate of completion in Teaching and Learning! Nancy <\/strong>has also completed the requirements for the certificate of completion in Leadership Development.<\/p>\nBoth Nancy and Tony will be formally recognized for their achievement at this year\u2019s Faculty & Staff Honors Convocation.<\/p>\n
Nancy <\/strong>has been with the college for 22 years. In her tenure at Hudson Valley Community College, she was a faculty member for 12 years and a department chairperson for 10 years. She was among the first group of\u00a0 faculty members to place a course online. She received the President\u2019s award for Excellence in Teaching in 1994 and the New York State Chancellor\u2019s Award for Teaching Excellence in 1999. This past year, she was instrumental in her department\u2019s receipt of national accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.<\/p>\nShe is an active member of the campus community and the community at large. She serves on the Who\u2019s Who Committee, the New Faculty Orientation Committee, the Chancellor\u2019s Award committee and the Assessment committee. She has presented numerous seminars and workshops for educators and administrators throughout the state and beyond. This June, she will give the keynote presentation at the SUNY Administration in Early Childhood conference in Saratoga Springs. Her topic will be bullying. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\nTony <\/strong>has been with Hudson Valley Community College since 2004. During his time at the College, he always has been interested in his professional and personal development, including additional workshops on Academic Advising and Leadership Development through the Center for Effective Teaching.\u00a0Last year, he earned a certificate for being one of the pioneers of the “Teach It Forward” program.<\/span><\/p>\nHe is also active on campus as a member of the Academic Senate, chair of the Personnel Resource Committee, a committee member and moderator for Faculty Workshop Day, a faculty mentor and several other activities. Along with teaching his traditional and online classes, Tony continues to write in the sports media field and help coach softball.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\nPlease join us in congratulating Nancy and Tony for their accomplishments!<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
