Those voices were heard loud and clear as evidenced by the passage of Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species acts in the following few years.

You can make your impact at Hudson Valley-s celebration of Earth Day — and you don-t even need a protest sign — on Wednesday, Apr. 20 with activities that include environmental movies, a lecture on native landscaping techniques, a seed and plant exchange, tours of the college-s cogeneration plant, a bird and wildflower walk, eco-friendly vendors, acoustic guitar music by Caleb Bauscher, garden soil testing and solar oven cooking demonstrations. There will also be craft projects and a scavenger hunt for children participating in the “Take Your Child to Work Day” event.

Earth Day activities, sponsored by the Sustainability Committee, take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Siek Campus Center and Bulmer Telecommunications Center, as well as outside Hudson Hall.

Contact Maxine Ortiz at extension 7787 or m.ortiz@hvcc.edu for more information.

Celebrate Earth Day on April 20

Published: Tue, 19 Apr 2011 00:00:00 +0000 by d.renfrew

Earth Day celebrations have become a lot quieter since the very first one in April of 1970 when Wisconsin…

[1

post-316","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-campus-announcements
["GET
