{"id":3344,"date":"2012-08-29T17:11:02","date_gmt":"2012-08-29T21:11:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/pv-basics-electricity-for-photovoltaic-systems-starts-sept-11\/"},"modified":"2012-08-29T17:11:02","modified_gmt":"2012-08-29T21:11:02","slug":"pv-basics-electricity-for-photovoltaic-systems-starts-sept-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/pv-basics-electricity-for-photovoltaic-systems-starts-sept-11\/","title":{"rendered":"PV-Basics, Electricity for Photovoltaic Systems starts Sept. 11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prepare for a career in the Photovoltaic (Solar) Energy industry with <strong>PV-Basics, Electricity for Photovoltaic Systems,<\/strong> a 21-hour course offered by the Workforce Development Institute (WDI) from Sept. 11 to 29, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>As an introduction to Solar Energy, students learn basic electrical skills, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Electrical Theory<\/li>\n<li>Electrical Measurements<\/li>\n<li>Electrical Devices<\/li>\n<li>Electrical Wiring<\/li>\n<li>Practical Wiring Skills<\/li>\n<li>Solar Panel Electrical Requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Classes will be held on campus in Williams Hall Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuition is $395, plus approximately $100 for the textbook, <em>Photovoltaic Systems<\/em> (optional).
