If you are a successful student who enjoys helping others this may be a nice part time job for you.<\/p>\n<p>We are beginning the process of creating our pool of peer tutors for the fall semester. If you enjoy helping others and have a few hours a week to devote to a part-time on campus job then Peer Tutoring may be just the thing for you.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements for Peer Tutors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the President\u2019s or Dean\u2019s List and have a faculty recommendation.<\/li>\n<li>Be a quality student with a recommendation from a faculty member for the course in which you wish to tutor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your part:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pick up a Peer Tutor Application in the Learning Assistance Center (LAC) located on the lower level of the Marvin Library Learning Commons or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hvcc.edu\/learningcenters\/lac\/peertutor-app.pdf\">print the application<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Ask a faculty member for a recommendation and have them send it to Don Frament via e-mail (<a href=\"mailto:d.frament@hvcc.edu\">d.frament@hvcc.edu<\/a>) or interoffice mail (Don Frament, MRV001).<\/li>\n<li>Return your completed application to Don Frament in the LAC (Marvin Library Learning Commons, lower level).<\/li>\n<li>Once the faculty recommendation is received you will be contacted.<\/li>\n<li>You must successfully complete an interview and Peer Tutor Training in order to be hired.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Peer tutoring is a paid student worker ($8\/hr) position.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks,<br \/>\nDon Frament<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Published:<\/strong>\u00a0Fri, 26 Apr 2013 11:54:11 +0000 by\u00a0e.bryant<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; The Peer Tutoring Program is seeking qualified students for Fall 2013 Peer Tutors.
