SUNY Music Madness seeking submissions!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In an effort to illuminate the incredible and diverse arts talent on SUNY campuses, the SUNY System Administration Office of New Media is proud to announce a system-wide original music contest for SUNY students called SUNY\u00a0<em>Music Madness<\/em>!\u00a0The call for submissions to the contest will be Friday, Nov. 1 and the official launch of Round I of SUNY Music Madness will be Monday, Nov. 18 at noon.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What the competition involves:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Students will submit videos<\/strong>\u00a0of themselves performing original music to the Generation SUNY Blog by going to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.suny.edu\/MusicMadness\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/blog.SUNY.edu\/MusicMadness<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Videos of all participating performers,\u00a0<strong>with special and explicit notation of their enrolled campus<\/strong>, will be posted on the Generation SUNY Blog, with related posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Performers will compete in a\u00a0<strong>single-elimination contest spanning three rounds<\/strong>.\u00a0Rounds of voting will last approximately 7-14 days.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The public will vote\u00a0<\/strong>for their favorite performer on the Generation SUNY Blog.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Competition schedule:<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Round 1:<\/strong> Monday, Nov. 18 at noon \u2013 Sunday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m.<br \/>\n<strong>Round 2 &#8211;\u00a0 Semifinal:<\/strong> Tuesday, Nov. 26 at noon \u2013 Friday, Dec. 6 at 11 p.m.<br \/>\n<strong>Round 3 \u2013 Final:<\/strong> Tuesday, Dec. 10 at noon \u2013 Wednesday, Dec. 18 at midnight<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Rules of play:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participants must submit 100% original material and multiple students are allowed as one submission (i.e., a band, chorus, musicians,\u00a0or duet); at least 50% of any submission must consist of enrolled SUNY students. Submissions are due by Wednesday, Nov. 13.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The content constraints (context of music and submission reviewing) are governed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.sysadm.suny.edu\/EmployeeServices\/pdf\/SocialMediaPolicyMay.17.2011.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">SUNY Social Media Policy<\/a> and the participant must agree to the additional terms that are outlined on the submission page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Each round is not a bracket; rather, every video collects votes.
