Welcome back!<\/p>\n

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety reminds everyone on campus to be mindful of the following fire safety issues:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Keep all exits and means of egress free of items;<\/li>\n
  2. Do not block fire extinguishers<\/li>\n
  3. Power strips, extension cords, refrigerators and portable heaters must be plugged directly in to wall outlets;<\/li>\n
  4. Extension cords are for temporary use only; no house hold extension cords are allowed on campus. For more information on extension cord safety, see the fact sheet<\/a>;<\/li>\n
  5. Stored item must have 18″ of ceiling clearance in buildings with sprinklers and 24″ of ceiling clearance in buildings with no sprinkler system;<\/li>\n
  6. Burning of candles, incenses or sparklers is prohibited;<\/li>\n
  7. When cooking, especially popcorn, do not leave\u00a0 food unattended;<\/li>\n
  8. When you hear or see the fire alarm, immediately gather your items and leave the building; do not re-enter the building until given the \u201cAll Clear\u201d by Public Safety or the Fire Department.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
