Last week\u2019s Blackboard <\/em>tip of the week focused on using rubrics in situations in which students are receiving ongoing grades for their work on assessments such as blogs, journals or wikis (Read the Tip<\/em><\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n

On the other end of the scale, did you know that you can also associate a Blackboard <\/em>rubric with individual test questions? This is a new feature in Blackboard<\/em> and it can be very effective, for instance, if you have test questions that require a lengthy and detailed response, or that involve multiple steps (such as essay, short-answer or file-response questions), and for which you want to provide your students with clear performance guidelines.<\/p>\n

Associating a rubric with an individual test question involves creating a new question, or editing an existing question; selecting the rubric that you want to associate with that question (or, alternatively, creating a new rubric to associate with the question), and selecting the way in which you want your students to view the rubric.
