Introduction\u00a0to\u00a0Improvisational\u00a0Theatre<\/strong> (THEA 170) will be held\u00a0Monday\u00a0and Thursday evenings,\u00a0May 19 through\u00a0June 27 (Summer Session 2), in the Maureen Stapleton\u00a0Theatre.<\/p>\n Introduction\u00a0to\u00a0Improvisational\u00a0Theatre<\/strong> introduces students\u00a0to\u00a0the fundamentals of\u00a0improvisational\u00a0acting.\u00a0Theatre\u00a0games and exercises, intended\u00a0to\u00a0free students from the anxiety and mental blocks associated with performing without any prior preparation, will be utilized. Students will work in groups\u00a0to\u00a0develop the communicative and cooperative skills needed\u00a0to confidently participate in the various styles and forms of\u00a0improvisational theatre. \nTheatre,\u201d \u201cCreative Writing: Stage and Screen,\u201d as well as public speaking
\nclasses as an instructor at Hudson Valley. He also has served as both an
\nactor and a director for several local improv troupes, has performed
\nstand-up comedy at venues throughout the Northeast, and has had plays
\nproduced in the Capital Region. Sperber holds degrees in English, dramaturgy and educational\u00a0theatre.<\/p>\n
