On Thursday, July 24, 2014, ITS Launched new services. Over the summer\u00a0months, ITS has been focused on becoming more agile in the way IT support is delivered to the campus, as well as enhancing its customer service. To that end, ITS now offers the following new services:<\/p>\n
Launch of New Guest Network<\/b><\/p>\n
The network labeled\u00a0HVCC-Guest<\/b>\u00a0has been retired in favor of a self-service oriented\u00a0Guest<\/b>\u00a0network. The former required forms, approvals and was too rigid for granting immediate access to the Internet. A true\u00a0guest\u00a0network should not require this level of complexity.<\/p>\n
With the new system, users connect to the\u00a0Guest<\/b>\u00a0network, attempt to browse a web site and are immediately instructed on how to obtain a verification code that will get them connected to the Internet. The whole process takes moments with no need for complex technical configurations.<\/p>\n
Support documentation for the\u00a0<\/span>Guest Wireless Configuration<\/a>\u00a0is located under the Wireless Section on the ITS Documentation Web page at:\u00a0<\/span>www.hvcc.edu\/its\/docs\/docs.html<\/a>. In order to connect to this network, a guest must first review Hudson Valley\u2019s privacy policy, then complete a form with their name, e-mail address and mobile phone number. A verification code will then be sent to the e-mail address and mobile phone number provided.<\/span><\/p>\n This new service will address a growing need to provide quick access to Internet resources for our vendors, trainers and visitors.<\/p>\n Launch of New Technical Support Help Desk<\/b><\/p>\n ITS also launched a new Technical Help Desk for Staff and Faculty on July 24, 2014.
