Last spring, the Foundation provided the Investment Club with funds to enhance its understanding of the stock market, trading policies, and fiduciary obligations of investing clients\u2019 money. In just a short time, under the advisement of Professor Joseph Stenard, the Investment Club has proven to be more than capable of being fiscally responsible with a sound balance of conservative and risky investments.<\/p>\n
Last week, the Investment Club presented its work to the Foundation\u2019s Board of Directors. The board was thoroughly impressed by the caliber of the club\u2019s professionalism and financial savvy, as its members monitor\u00a0the market to make the best decisions for maximum returns on their investments. Frank C. Sarratori, vice chairperson of the Foundation Board, who works at Pioneer Bank, asked, \u201cDo any of these students need a job?!\u201d Frank and the rest of the Board understand the value of this Club\u2019s\u00a0activities, and that it creates a learning opportunity for the students to gain the skills and experiences that will allow them to be workforce ready.<\/p>\n
The Foundation is very proud of the strides\u00a0the Investment Club\u00a0has taken in a short period of time. Club President Josh Carroll reports that membership has increased exponentially since its inception last spring and they welcome new members each week. At the Foundation, we are excited to see how they will continue to learn and grow throughout the year.<\/p>\n
