Reminder<\/strong>: The deadline for this year’s David A. Garfinkel Essay Scholarship is Friday, April 1, 2016 at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n This year’s topic: What role does jury service play in our democracy?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Eligibility<\/strong>: The scholarship is open to all students enrolled in a New York Community College in the Fall 2015 and\/or Spring 2016 Semester! We encourage students from all disciplines to submit essays.<\/p>\n Prizes<\/strong>: Six scholarship prizes are available through the contest, three for CUNY students and three for SUNY students. The top prize for each group is $1,500 with runner up prizes of $1,000 & $500.<\/p>\n Rules:<\/strong> Essays must be between 1,500 and 5,500 words in length.
