The Dwight Marvin Library faculty is pleased to announce the recipient of the the 2016-17\u00a0Dr. Joseph J. Bulmer for Award in Excellence in Library Research.<\/p>\n

This year’s honor goes to Thomas Michael Smith<\/strong>\u00a0for his paper, Few New Antibiotics: Even in the Face of Antibiotic Resistance,<\/strong> submitted in fulfillment of requirements for English Composition, under the direction of Assistant Professor Sara Tedesco.<\/p>\n

Thomas’s research paper, focusing on the\u00a0declining\u00a0effectiveness of antibiotics\u00a0in infection management,\u00a0included a well-balanced\u00a0combination of library resources and credible Web sites in proper Modern Language Association (MLA 8) format. Tom self-nominated his paper for the Award, followed by Professor Tedesco’s confirmation of a grade of “A.”<\/p>\n

Thomas will be recognized this Friday evening at the Student Honors and Awards ceremony in the McDonough Complex, in the commencement program, on a perpetual plaque in the Dwight Marvin Library Learning Commons, and will receive a monetary award administered by The Foundation.<\/p>\n
