The annual celebration takes place\u00a0at the Melville House, which is located at 2 114th St. in Lansingburgh.<\/p>\n<p>The event features a 10:30 a.m. lecture by Mary K. Bercaw Edwards, Ph.D., author and noted Melville authority, who is an associate professor at the University of Connecticut. She will present, &#8220;An Alchemist of Words: Melville&#8217;s Use of Sources.&#8221; In addition to her academic work, Dr. Bercaw Edwards is a licensed US Coast Guard Master of Near-Coastal Auxiliary Sail Vessels of not more than 100 tons. She circumnavigated the globe aboard the 38-foot ketch, &#8220;Natasha,&#8221; 1971-1975.<\/p>\n<p>Light refreshments and birthday cake are served following the lecture. The Melville House&#8217;s third floor museum and second floor apartment are open to tour.
