{"id":9714,"date":"2017-08-22T15:04:52","date_gmt":"2017-08-22T19:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/employee-tuition-reimbursement-available-for-2017-2018\/"},"modified":"2017-08-22T15:04:52","modified_gmt":"2017-08-22T19:04:52","slug":"employee-tuition-reimbursement-available-for-2017-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/employee-tuition-reimbursement-available-for-2017-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Employee tuition reimbursement available for 2017-2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Colleagues:<\/p>\n<p>Once again this year, tuition reimbursement for all employees has been included in the 2017-2018 college operating budget.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are the guidelines:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Available to <strong>ALL<\/strong> employees.<\/li>\n<li>Reimbursement is available for coursework taken for credit at any nationally or regionally accredited college.<\/li>\n<li>Coursework does not have to be job-related.<\/li>\n<li>You do not have to be matriculated into a program to be eligible.<\/li>\n<li>Reimbursement is for tuition only (no fees), based on 50% of the current SUNY in-state tuition rate for up to 6 credits per semester.<\/li>\n<li>Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. I will notify the campus community when the funds are depleted for the fiscal year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For Fall 2017, Spring 2018 and Summer 2018 (if funds are still available), the reimbursement rate per semester is:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$93.50 per credit\/$561 maximum (6 credits) \u2014 Associate degrees and credit-bearing certificates taken at a college <strong>other<\/strong> than Hudson Valley Community College*<\/li>\n<li>$139.00 per credit\/$834 maximum (6 credits) \u2014 Bachelor\u2019s degrees<\/li>\n<li>$226.50 per credit\/$1,359 maximum (6 credits) \u2014\u00a0 Master\u2019s degrees and PhDs<\/li>\n<li>$306.50 per credit\/$1,839 maximum (6 credits) \u2014\u00a0 MBA program<\/li>\n<li>$272.50 per credit\/$1,635 maximum (6 credits) \u2014 MSW program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s the procedure for reimbursement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Register and pay for the course(s).<\/li>\n<li>Send copies of the registration (a schedule is fine) and payment receipt to me, either by email at <a href=\"mailto:s.kalkbrenner@hvcc.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">s.kalkbrenner@hvcc.edu<\/span><\/a> or by inter-office mail (Guenther 164). There are no forms to fill out.<\/li>\n<li>You will be contacted by Accounts Payable via email when your check is ready.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>*Please note<\/strong> that this does <strong>not <\/strong>apply to courses taken at Hudson Valley. For information on how to take courses here, please contact Human Resources or consult your bargaining unit agreement.<\/p>\n<p>I am happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
