{"id":9754,"date":"2017-08-31T12:30:27","date_gmt":"2017-08-31T16:30:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/presidents-august-report-to-the-board-of-trustees\/"},"modified":"2017-08-31T12:30:27","modified_gmt":"2017-08-31T16:30:27","slug":"presidents-august-report-to-the-board-of-trustees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wpdev\/presidents-august-report-to-the-board-of-trustees\/","title":{"rendered":"President&#8217;s August report to the Board of Trustees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The college\u2019s Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at TEC-SMART, and I\u2019m pleased to share my\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Presidents-Report-August-2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> and accompanying <a href=\"http:\/\/chronicle.hvcc.edu\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Presidents-Report-Materials-August-2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">materials<\/a> with faculty and staff.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Announcement of the new Athletic Hall of Fame members, who will be enshrined on Friday, Oct. 6<\/li>\n<li>$4.4 million in funding requests for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hvcc.edu\/foundation\/cams.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Center for Advanced Manufacturing Skills<\/a> (CAMS)<\/li>\n<li>Campus visit on Aug. 30 by John Pettigrew, National Grid&#8217;s Chief Executive; Ken Daly, National Grid\u2019s New York State President, and other company executives, who toured the Overhead Line Worker lab, HVAC lab and solar lab<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Trustees also welcomed Nathaniel Savasta, who will serve as student trustee for 2017-2018.<\/p>\n<p>The Board meets next on Tuesday, Sept. 26. The annual meeting begins at 5 p.m. in GUN 148.
