Cross Country<\/strong> traveled to participate in the Bard Invitational on Saturday. The men\u2019s program finished 10th out of 21 teams with Ryan Moon earning the team\u2019s fastest time in the 8K race (29:22). The women were led by Sarah Rosenberger as she finished 34th in the 5K race in a time of 20:57. Cross Country will be on the road again Saturday, Sept. 30 to run in the Herkimer Invitational at Herkimer College.<\/p>\n Football\u2019s (1-3)<\/strong> comeback ran out of time as the Vikings were defeated by the New Jersey Warriors 16-14 on Sunday afternoon in Holmdel, NJ. Tajmaleeak Beckett\u00a0marched the Vikings down the field for two touchdowns in the third quarter to pull Hudson Valley within four-points, 16-12. Beckett’s first touchdown was a 67-yard deep pass down the left sideline to\u00a0John Daly. A missed extra point left the score 14-6 in favor of the Warriors. Football will be home on Saturday, Sept. 30 to face ASA College at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n Men\u2019s Soccer (5-3)<\/strong> went 1-2 last week in their three road games, defeating Mohawk Valley, 4-2, and then dropped both games against Erie, 3-2, and to No.5 Genesee, 8-0. Last week, Garrett Axtmann was named the NJCAA National Player of the Week and the Region 3 Player of the Week for his eight-point performance the week prior. The men\u2019s program is home Wednesday, Sept. 27 to face No.2 Herkimer at 6 p.m. and again on Friday, Sept. 29 against Jamestown at 4 p.m<\/p>\n Women\u2019s Soccer (4-3)<\/strong> defeated the nation\u2019s top-ranked team in Erie Community College on Saturday afternoon, 2-1. It is the first time the Vikings have defeated a top-ranked team in program history. The women also dropped a 1-0 match to No.4 Genesee on Sunday. Women\u2019s soccer is home this Wednesday, Sept. 27 to face No.2 Herkimer at 4 p.m. and on Friday, Sept. 29 to face Jamestown at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n Women\u2019s Tennis (1-4)<\/strong> had a full team for the first time this week and defeated Herkimer, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon for its first win of the 2017 season. Women\u2019s tennis is back on the road Monday, Sept. 25 as they travel to rematch Herkimer at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n Women\u2019s Volleyball (3-6)<\/strong> finished the week with a 2-1 record after a successful day in the Corning Community College pod tournament on Saturday. The Vikings defeated Broome (3-2) and Tompkins-Cortland (3-0). The only loss on the day was to Corning in five sets (3-2).
