Wreath sponsors sought for annual Wreaths Across America at the Saratoga National Cemetery

The following letter is from CSM Bob Van Pelt, USA, Retired, who serves as
Executive Director, Capital District of New York Chapter – AUSA

The Capital District of New York Chapters’ 2021 Wreaths Across America campaign for the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Ceremony in Schuylerville, NY is in full swing. A big THANK YOU goes out to all those that have already donated wreaths to the cause.

I would ask those that have not already donated that you please consider sponsoring a wreath(s) so we can honor and remember all those Veterans and Family Members interred at the cemetery. Visit https://bit.ly/2kFKPAB to make a donation.

Please also consider sending this email with the attached flyer out to all of your friends, relatives and co-workers. Also, if you would like to help place the wreaths, the date for placing the Remembrance Wreaths is Saturday, Dec. 18. (More information will follow as we get closer to December.)

Some might not be aware that our chapter furnishes ALL 13,000+ American flags used at the Saratoga National Cemetery for Memorial Day. This year, we were also able to install three displays of 2,977 American flags each in recognition of the 20th anniversary of 9/11 at the cemetery, the National Guard HQ in Latham and the New York Military Museum in Saratoga Springs. When you donate a wreath, you are also helping us purchase new and replacement American Flags for use on Memorial Day and other events as any funds we receive back for our Wreaths Across America campaign goes to for this purpose.

Please support this effort as best you can. Our Chapter goal is to have 500 wreaths donated out of the 13,000+ needed. No matter how many wreaths you donate, it is greatly appreciated!

As always, if you have questions or suggestions, please reach out to me by any means below.

Sincerely,

Bob
