Write All Night is today

Write All Night on Thursday, Nov. 14

According to the old nursery rhyme,

“Monday’s child is fair of face, Tuesday’s child is full of grace,
Wednesday’s child is full of woe, Thursday’s child has far to go.”

And why does “Thursday’s child have far to go?” Because Thursday’s child is a procrastinator. That’s right, she has a research paper due before the Thanksgiving vacation, but she has far to go because she  hasn’t yet finished her research and she’s not sure how she’s going to organize her ideas.

Fortunately, on Thursday, Nov. 14, Thursday’s child is going to Write All Night. On that night, the Marvin Library Learning Commons will be open for an additional two hours – from 10:00 p.m. to midnight – and writing assistance will be provided in the Computer Learning Center on the lower level.

Write All Night is a special program sponsored by The Learning Centers once per semester to give students an extra opportunity to get help on their term papers or other writing assignments. Writing specialists will be available to answer questions and provide general feedback.

In the past, for instance, some students have used this special session to properly cite their research sources using MLA or APA documentation while others have used the opportunity to straighten out problems in verb tense, point of view or subject-verb agreement.
