GO GREEN!

You can put a significant dent in your electricity usage by cutting down on your clothes dryer use. Nearly 5.8 percent of the energy expended in a typical home is from dryer usage. Besides, clothes last longer if air-dried.

A clothes line or drying racks will hold everything from sock to towels to pants. Hang shirts to dry on hangers. Run the dryer only when absolutely necessary.

Send green comments, suggestions or questions to gogreen@hvcc.edu.

Think before you use that dryer!
