The Hudson Valley Community College men’s basketball team (13-12) lost a close game to SUNY Delhi (24-3) Saturday afternoon, 61-58.
The Vikings trailed by six late in the second half, but then went on a 10-0 run. Delhi immediately answered and regained another six-point lead. Hudson Valley pulled within one with eight seconds to go, but two clutch free-throws by Delhi sealed the victory. Steve Hunt (Tamarac/Wynantskill) led the Vikings with a double-double, recording 16 points and 10 rebounds. De’Von Beaufort (Peekskill/Peekskill) provided a spark off the bench finishing with 14 points and Anthony Robustiano (Mohonasen/Rotterdam) chipped in 13 in the losing effort.
The men’s team travels to Schenectady Community College on Tuesday, Feb. 15 for a 7 p.m. game.
