The following statement was released from the Chancellor’s office following yesterday’s State of the State address by Governor Andrew Cuomo.
“On behalf of SUNY, I am thrilled to accept Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s invitation for SUNY to participate in his administration’s regional economic development councils. The Governor’s recognition that SUNY is an economic driver for our state’s economy – a ready-made asset for Governor Cuomo’s recovery plan – is very much in line with our strategic plan, The Power of SUNY. With the Governor’s vision for New York, SUNY is poised to be that vehicle for revitalization and we look forward to working with his administration as he carries out this critical agenda.
-Governor Cuomo’s State of the State Address provided a clear roadmap to guide New York out of these difficult economic times. He has called us to action – our campus presidents, our faculty, staff and students, and our alumni – and we stand ready to partner with him, at this most critical time, on the economic revitalization of New York State.’
